Discovering God Through Science

Discovering God Through Science

CENTRAL ASIA — Crossworld worker Abigail welcomed her honors chemistry class of 11th and 12th grade students. Today they were discussing several articles Abigail had assigned on the topic of entropy.

Entropy, they had learned, is a measure of disorder. It explains why things naturally move from order to chaos — like why ice melts or why rooms grow messier until effort is put into cleaning.

Abigail opened the discussion, and students shared their thoughts sparked by the articles.

One student reflected on an article written by a Christian that explored how the miracles of Jesus converge with the scientific concept of entropy.

“Is God part of creation, or is he separate from it?” asked another student, Maya, an unbeliever with limited knowledge of the Bible.

With a mix of believing and unbelieving students, Abigail had anticipated a thought-provoking discussion on this article.

A believing student answered Maya, “He’s separate — he is the Creator.”

Abigail explained how God exists outside the laws of nature and is not bound by them.

“I’ve always wondered about this,” Maya said, clearly engaged.

Class time ended, but the conversation continues as Maya explores the knowledge of God in the created world. Will you pray for Maya to find her own faith in God through science class?

The people in this story are real, but some names have been changed to protect their privacy.
